Motorcycle Rentals FAQ
RENTAL BASICS
What kind of motorcycle license do I need?
We accept a current and valid driver’s license from your home country, provided it includes the appropriate class or endorsement that allows you to operate the type of motorcycle you are renting or its equivalent. Please note that local laws of the country where you are renting apply to the vehicle and its use.
Which types of European driving licenses are accepted for motorcycle rental?
An A1 license allows you to rent the VOGE 500DS, Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Himalayan 450, and CFMOTO 650MT Limited Version.
An A license allows you to rent all models.
Do I need an International Driving Permit to rent a motorcycle?
Although not required, it is recommended that all visitors with a license in a foreign language obtain an International Driving Permit. If your license is clearly legible, we will accept it.
What is the minimum age for renting a motorcycle?
A motorcycle lease for an A license motorcycle is allowed for drivers who are at least 25 years old and have held a motorcycle license for a minimum of 2 years.
For A1 license motorcycles, the minimum age requirement is 22 years, with at least 2 years of motorcycle license holding as well. The license must be valid, and a copy must be submitted prior to the lease.
There is no age limit for passengers; however, the passenger must be able to reach the footpegs of the motorcycle.
What kind of bike will I get?
Unfortunately, bike choices cannot be guaranteed due to factors beyond our control. While most of our riders receive their first choice, we require two bike preferences to be submitted at the time of booking.
What kind of insurance is included?
The motorcycle comes with the mandatory minimum insurance coverage required by Greek law. This only protects the rider against third-party claims for property damage or personal injury. GSTRAVELER offers a Damage Warranty, which limits your liability in the event of damage to the motorcycle.
RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT
Do you require a deposit at the time of booking?
For rental bookings, a minimum deposit of 30% is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full at the pick-up date.
When do I have to pay the full rental amount?
For rental reservations booked more than 60 days before the pick-up date, a minimum deposit of 30% is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full at the pick-up date.
How does the warranty deposit work?
Depending on the motorcycle you choose, a security deposit between 400 to 1,500 euros will be required when you are picking up your motorcycle. The security deposit will be reserved against the available balance on your credit card. Once your motorcycle is returned on time and free of damage, the security deposit will be released.
How will you refund the deposit of the warranty?
If you secure your rental with a credit/debit card, we will charge the security deposit on the day you pick up your rental vehicle. Your security deposit might be held by your bank for up to 15 days. After that, it will be automatically released in full unless we charge any damages, traffic violations, or any other necessary charges against it.
What is your cancellation policy?
Upon cancellation of a lease, there is no refund of the prepayment if the cancellation is made in less than 30 days from the date of the lease. If the cancellation is notified in writing to the company more than 30 days from the start of the lease, then you will get a full refund. Cancellations can be addressed on a case-by-case basis as well.
Do you accept walk-in bookings?
We are open to walk-ins during our respective business hours.
USING YOUR MOTORCYCLE
Will I get some basic training for the rented motorcycle?
Once you complete your quick rental check-in at our location, one of our team members will provide a comprehensive orientation to your rental motorcycle. This includes a thorough damage and safety inspection, along with detailed instructions on the bike’s features, how to start and stop the engine, the location of the brakes, turn signals, emergency flashers, alarm system procedures, the location and storage of the motorcycle registration, and much more. Feel free to ask as many questions as you need to feel 100% comfortable and confident with your motorcycle before you start your journey.
What about the fuel policy?
All GSTRAVELER motorcycles are presented with a full tank at the start of your rental and should be returned with a full tank. If your motorcycle is returned with less than a full tank of fuel, you will incur a refueling charge. To save time and avoid hassles, please refuel the motorcycle at the gas stations next to our office, which are open for extended business hours.
Can I ride my motorcycle outside the Greek borders?
GSTRAVELER’s policy for riding your rental motorcycle across international borders is that without prior written approval from us, no motorcycle is allowed to cross the borders unless special permission is granted for that purpose.
Do I have to pick up or drop off the motorcycle only during open hours?
We encourage our customers to return their rental bikes during business hours in order to close out their reservations and avoid additional charges that may apply. It is always possible to agree on different hours for pick up/drop off, sometimes at an extra charge.

Self-Guided Motorcycle Tours FAQ
SELF-GUIDED TOUR BASICS
What is a Self-Guided Tour?
A Self-Guided Tour is a flexible, fully independent riding experience where you ride on your own without a tour guide. All of our tours are self-guided and come with a package that includes bike rental, hotel accommodations, and route suggestions.
What is the difference between a Self-Guided Tour and a bike rental?
A Self-Guided Tour is an independent navigation experience, with no tour guide and no fixed schedule, that offers the freedom to ride at your own pace. Your bike, hotel accommodations, and route suggestions are all arranged by GSTRAVELER. A bike-only rental, on the other hand, includes just the motorcycle, and you are responsible for organizing your own accommodations and route planning.
What are the requirements to participate in a tour?
To participate in our Self-Guided Tours, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid motorcycle license for at least two years. Additionally, a valid credit card with sufficient available credit is required.
Is there any set date of departure for your Tours?
Our self-guided tours do not have fixed departure dates. You are welcome to start your tour on any day of the week, during our office operating hours or by prior arrangement.
Do you offer customized tours?
Yes! One of the advantages of our Self-Guided Tours is that they are completely customizable: you can modify an existing tour, and our tour guides can help you create a custom tour tailored just for you.

OTHER INFO
What kind of hotels are included in the price?
The hotels we use are booked based on availability, so the exact hotel will not be known upfront and will be confirmed later. Typically, we select 3-star, motorcycle-friendly hotels. If you prefer higher-star accommodations, we can request those for an additional surcharge depending on the location. Please note that in smaller towns, only 3-star hotels may be available, and booking higher-star options might not be possible. Higher-star hotels are generally easier to find in larger cities.
Can I extend my hotel booking in Greece for days before or after the tour?
Yes, we can arrange additional hotel nights at the beginning or end of your tour. Please inform us in advance to ensure availability and proper scheduling.
Can we make changes to our hotel bookings before the tour start date?
Before your tour begins, we may be able to accommodate changes to your hotels and itinerary, depending on availability. Please note that any approved changes may incur a surcharge. Once your tour has started, hotel changes are not possible, as all accommodations are booked in advance.
Does the tour price include bed and breakfast accommodations?
Breakfast is included with all our Self-Drive Tours.
